The Elkhart Police Department is actively investigating a shooting that occurred earlier this morning in front of 245 W. Hively Ave, Elkhart, in which multiple individuals were involved. One individual sustained non-life threatening injuries and was subsequently taken into custody.

The Elkhart Police Department is actively investigating a serious bodily injury car vs. motorcycle crash that occurred on 6/19/26 on Co Rd 6 near Johnson St. The motorcycle driver was taken for medical treatment.
The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a fatal car vs. pedestrian crash that occurred late on 6/18/26 in the 3300 block of S Nappanee St, Elkhart. Initial investigation indicates that a car struck a woman and her 2-year-old child who were crossing the street. Sadly, the 28-year-old mother died from her injuries. The driver remained on the scene and cooperated. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
