Program Highlights

Primary Purpose 

• Address health and safety hazards

• Improve accessibility for seniors and persons with disabilities

• Upgrade essential systems such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and roofing

Who Qualifies 

• Must own and occupy the home as your primary residence for at least 18 months

• Household income must be within HUD income limits (Income limits)

• Property must be located within the City of Elkhart

• Property taxes and mortgage must be current

• Homeowners must have clear title to the property

Eligible Repairs 

• Roof replacement or repair

• Heating and cooling system upgrades

• Plumbing or electrical repairs

• Foundation stabilization

• Energy efficiency improvements (siding, insulation, doors)

• Accessibility modifications (ramps, grab bars, ADA bathroom)
