Temporary Boil Water Advisory

Caution:
As a precautionary measure, the City of Elkhart Public Works and Utilities Department hereby issues a temporary boil water advisory for the City of Elkhart Water Utility.

The City anticipates the order will be in effect until February 25 at 3:00pm, but the advisory will remain in effect until the City issues a statement that the temporary boil water advisory is lifted.                                          
    
All water from the municipal water system should be boiled for three minutes before use. The City will issue a statement at the time when the Order is no longer in effect. For health related questions and concerns, please seek medical advice from your health care provider or Elkhart County Health Department.  Restaurants in the affected area may contact the Elkhart County Health Department at (574) 971-4600 for instructions on operating. For other questions on the temporary boil water advisory, please contact the Public Works Administrative Office at (574)293-2572.

Caution: The City of Elkhart Public Works and Utilities has completed its analysis of the water quality for the water system and all quality tests have passed. There is no public health concern. Therefore, the City of Elkhart lifted the temporary boil water advisory. All cautionary restrictions on consumptions of water from the City of Elkhart’s municipal water system are removed.

The City of Elkhart is grateful for the cooperation of our water customers during this time and recognizes the inconvenience that this event may have imposed.
