Permit Center

The Permit Center handles all of the permit and zoning applications as well as all licensing for both the Building Department and Zoning Department; thus, creating a single space for all transactions so that an applicant is not shuffled from department to department. The Permit Center is also responsible for processing all Rental Registrations and scheduling the corresponding inspections.

The Permit Center is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (excluding City Holidays). You can apply for all applications and licenses online or at the Permit Center (located at 229 S. 2nd Street, Elkhart, IN 46516). We accept cash, check or credit cards.
