Weston Park

Weston Park is a bright and friendly neighborhood green space that brings the Strong Ave. community together. Tucked at the corner of Cedar and N. Michigan Streets, the park offers a calm, open feel with plenty of room to play, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. Families love the updated playground, neighbors appreciate the shady spots to unwind, and the open field is always ready for anything from a pickup game to a picnic.

Weston Park sits on the former grounds of Weston School, which once served families in the surrounding neighborhood. After the school closed, the land was transformed into a public park in 1995, creating a much-needed space for recreation, gatherings, and community connection. Over the years, Weston Park has grown into a beloved local hangout, with updates such as the newly renovated playground (2025) ensuring it continues to meet the neighborhood's needs.

Alcoholic Beverages & Drugs (§ 96.33)
Not allowed in the parks unless you have written permission from the Park Board or its authorized agents.

Animals (§ 96.27)
Please do not harm wildlife or remove eggs or young.
Pets must be on a leash no longer than 6 feet unless you’re in a designated off-leash area.

Camping (§ 96.24)
Camping is not permitted unless you have a valid permit.

Curfew (§ 96.35)
Parks are open from 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. unless otherwise posted.

Drones (§ 96.23)
Drone use is not allowed unless approved by the Park Board or its authorized agents.

Explosives & Weapons (§ 96.22)
Not permitted unless authorized by the Park Board or the Superintendent.

Fires (§ 96.28)
Fires are only allowed where permitted by ordinance.

Littering (§ 96.17)
Please dispose of trash properly. Littering is prohibited.

Peddling (§ 96.25)
Selling goods or services is not allowed without a permit.

Smoking & Vaping (§ 153.72)
Smoking and vaping are not permitted in the parks.

Playground

Renovated in 2025, Weston Park’s refreshed playground gives kids a fun, modern, and safe place to climb, slide, and burn some energy. It’s a favorite stop for families throughout the neighborhood.

Gazebo

A cozy spot for relaxing in the shade, reading a book, or enjoying a quiet moment. The gazebo also adds charm to community gatherings and small events.

Multi-Use Field

This wide stretch of green space is perfect for soccer, frisbee, yard games, or spreading out a blanket for a sunny afternoon picnic. It’s flexible and always ready for fun.
