FAQs
What time do the fireworks start?
Yes. The Independence Day Celebration is free and open to the public.
We are accepting food vendors only for the Independence Day Celebration. Interested food vendors must complete the official vendor application, which includes details on fees, deadlines, and required permits. Applications are reviewed, and approved vendors will be notified once selections are made.
What activities will be available?
Activities may include live music, family-friendly entertainment, food vendors, and fireworks. A full schedule will be shared closer to the event date.
Can I bring my own food and drinks?
Outside food and non-alcoholic beverages are welcome unless otherwise noted. A variety of food vendors will also be on-site.
For everyone’s safety and comfort, the following items are not permitted:
- Personal fireworks or sparklers
- Glass containers
- Drones
- Weapons of any kind
- Alcohol
- Cigarettes and vapes
- Pets
- Tents, canopies, or large umbrellas
The event may be delayed or canceled due to severe weather or unsafe conditions. Follow Elkhart Parks & Recreation on Facebook for real-time updates.
Parking is available throughout Downtown Elkhart. Some areas may have temporary road closures.

Street parking is available on all downtown streets.
Parking will not be permitted in the lower Civic Plaza Parking lot.
Carpooling is encouraged!
Can I bring chairs or blankets?
Yes. Lawn chairs and blankets are encouraged for seating.
