The Elkhart Fire Department's Headquarters is located at 500 East St., serving downtown Elkhart residents. This building houses our Fire, EMS, and Inspector/Investigator administration, along with the following apparatus: Battalion 105, Squad 1, Truck 18, Medic 21, Medic 25, Fire Unit 11 (Shift Inspector/Investigator), and Fire Unit 15 pulling Boat 1 and Boat 2. This Firehouse was built in 1979.
Elkhart Fire Station 2 is located at 300 W. Lusher Ave., which is located just southwest of downtown. This station houses Squad 2 and Medic 22. This Firehouse was built in 1966.
Elkhart Fire Station 3 is located at 1612 W. Mishawaka Rd. and serves the city's south side. Currently, Station 3 houses Engine 3. This Firehouse was built in 2004.
Elkhart Fire Station 4 is located at 1037 Oak St., serving the city's northwest side. Engine 4, Medic 24, and Fire Unit 10 (HazMat Chase Vehicle) are housed at this station, which was built in 1979.
Elkhart Fire Station 5 is situated at 515 Simpson St. on the east side of the city. This station houses Engine 5 and Fire Unit 16, which is our grass rig. Station 5 was built in 1960.
Elkhart Fire House 6 is located at 1023 Osolo Rd., at the corner of Osolo Rd. and Bristol St., on the city's northeast side. Engine 6 is the only unit housed at this firehouse, but a new Station 6 is currently under construction. This Firehouse was built in 1969.
Elkhart Fire Station 7 is located at 1007 County Road 6 W., which serves the north side of the city and is on the Elkhart Municipal Airport Property. Station 7 houses Battalion 106, Engine 7, Hazmat 1, and Engine 22, which serves as our CFR (Crash Fire Rescue) airport fire truck and is cross-manned when an aircraft emergency is called in. Station 7 was built in 1995.
