News Release: Elkhart Police Department Actively Investigating a Shooting with Injuries, E Jackson Blvd 

The Elkhart Police Department continues to actively investigate a shooting with injuries that occurred near 575 E Jackson Blvd, Elkhart.

On February 8, 2026, at about 5:20 p.m., the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a 911 call of a shooting with injuries near 575 E Jackson Blvd. Elkhart Police Department officers dispatched and arrived in the area shortly thereafter. Officers learned that two male victims presented at the hospital with apparent gunshot wounds. Both of the victims were evaluated and treated for what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Initial investigation indicates that suspect(s) in a vehicle shot at the victims’ vehicle while it was possibly near the intersection of E Lexington Ave/Junior Achievement Blvd. No arrests have been made at this time, and this remains an active and on-going investigation. We will release further information as we are able to do so.
