News Release-EPD Investigating Shooting with Three People Injured, W High St, 5.2.26

The Elkhart Police Department continues to actively investigate an early morning shooting in which three people were injured near 110 W High St, Elkhart.

Today, May 2, 2026, at about 1:15 a.m., the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a 911 call of a shooting with injuries in the area of 299 S 2nd St/W High St. Elkhart Police Department officers and first responders were dispatched and arrived in the area shortly thereafter. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound outside. First aid was administered at the scene and medics transported him to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of his injuries.

While on this call two additional male gunshot wound walk-in victims presented at the hospital, where at last information they were being evaluated and treated for their injuries.

These are early stages of the investigation. At this time no arrests have been made, and this remains an active and ongoing investigation.
