Elkhart Police Department Investigating Stabbing, N 6th St

News Release-EPD Investigating After Stabbing, 100 block of N. 6th St, 3.28.26

The Elkhart Police Department is actively investigating a stabbing that occurred earlier this evening in the 100 block of N. 6th St, Elkhart.

Today, March 28, 2026, at approximately 8:57 p.m., the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a 911 call of a fight in the 100 block of N 6th St. After Elkhart Police Department officers dispatched to the call, the Communications Center received additional information that there was a shooting victim in connection with this incident. Upon arrival, officers learned that a shooting had not occurred, but a male victim had been stabbed. Elkhart Fire Department medics transported the victim to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Officers detained individuals in connection with this investigation, which remains ongoing. We will provide further details as we are able to do so.
