Elkhart Police Department Investigating Stabbing

News Release: EPD Investigating Stabbing, W Bristol St/Edwardsburg Ave

The Elkhart Police Department is investigating a stabbing that occurred near the intersection of W Bristol St/Edwardsburg Ave.

Today, February 9, 2026, at about 3:30 p.m., the Elkhart City 911 Communications Center received a 911 call reporting an incident that occurred near 1038 W Bristol St. Elkhart Police Department Officers dispatched and arrived shortly thereafter. Initial investigation indicates that two known adult males had a physical altercation outside of their vehicles near the intersection of W Bristol St and Edwardsburg Ave. During the incident one of the men sustained stab wounds. Fire Department medics transported him to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

This is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no further danger to the public. At this time, no arrests have been made and this case will be forwarded to the Elkhart County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
