News Release-EPD Investigating Shooting, Tamarack Dr, 4.7.26

The Elkhart Police Department continues to actively investigate a non-fatal shooting that occurred yesterday evening in the 3000 block of Tamarack Dr, Elkhart.

Yesterday, April 6, 2026, at about 8:32 p.m., Elkhart Police Department officers dispatched to a residence in the 3000 block of Tamarack Dr after Elkhart Fire Department Medics requested police assistance. Upon arrival, medics reported that a 20-year-old male subject had an apparent gunshot wound. The medics transported him to the hospital for evaluation and treatment of a non-life-threatening injury.

The victim reported that he was shot outside the house. At this time no arrests have been made, and this remains an active and ongoing investigation.
