Elkhart Announces Rescheduled America 250 Fireworks Celebration

Elkhart, Ind. (7/10/26) – The City of Elkhart and the Elkhart Parks and Recreation Department are excited to announce the America 250 Fireworks Celebration, taking place on Saturday, July 18 at Central Green in Downtown Elkhart.

The event follows the postponement of the July 4 fireworks display due to approaching weather and will give the community another opportunity to gather for an evening of live entertainment, food trucks, and a spectacular fireworks finale.

Festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. with a performance by Couch, followed by Rick King’s Royal Hustle at 6 p.m. and Tritt/McGraw at 8 p.m. Food trucks will be on site, offering a variety of food and beverages for attendees to enjoy.

The celebration will conclude with the America 250 Fireworks Show, the largest fireworks display ever presented by Elkhart Parks & Recreation. Inspired by the United States' 250th anniversary, the show promises an unforgettable display over downtown Elkhart.

“We know many families were disappointed when the fireworks were postponed on July 4, and we’re thrilled to bring the community back together,” said Liz Stoutenour, Parks & Recreation Event Coordinator. “We’re looking forward to celebrating America 250 with an incredible evening of live entertainment and a fireworks show that’s well worth the wait.”

Admission is free. Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Please note that tents and canopies are prohibited. Additional entertainment announcements, event details, and parking information will be shared on the Elkhart Parks & Recreation Facebook page as they become available.

The America 250 Fireworks Celebration is made possible by the generous support of the Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau, Community Foundation of Elkhart County, Elkhart Festivals Inc., Welch Packaging, DLZ, Surf Internet, Waste Away Group, and Legacy Heating, Cooling, Plumbing & Electrical.
